Bad Bunny just dropped the visuals for his latest single “NUEVAYoL,” and it’s carrying a strong pro-immigrant message.
Unveiled on July 4, the video is a vibrant celebration of Puerto Rican culture — colorful, proud, and unapologetic. But it’s the ending that really grabs attention: an old-school radio plays a voice eerily similar to Donald Trump’s, delivering a striking reversal on past rhetoric.
“I made a mistake,” the voice admits. “I want to apologize to the immigrants in America. I mean the United States. I know America is the whole continent. I want to say that this country is nothing without the immigrants. This country is nothing without Mexicans, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Colombians, Venezuelans, Cubans.”

The faux Trump monologue and the video drop couldn’t have come at a more crucial moment, as immigrants across the U.S. continue to face aggressive crackdowns by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. And things appear to be escalating — just a day before the video’s release, on Thursday (July 3), Congress passed President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” a controversial move that grants ICE an additional 10,000 agents and expands detention capacity by 100,000 beds.
Back in February, Bad Bunny was spotted shooting scenes around New York, especially in the Bronx. In one shot, he’s dancing atop a building at Bronx Community College, and in another, he’s seen braving the cold and stepping into a limo — a cinematic nod to both grit and glamour.
“There’s a lot of history between Puerto Rico and New York. There’s a lot of culture — even the flag was made here,” Bad Bunny shared on Popcast earlier this year. “It’s the perfect song to kick off the project because it feels like a reunion of the whole Latino community… Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Colombians, Venezuela, Cuba, Mexico — all of that inspired the energy behind this album.”
Shortly after Debí Tirar Más Fotos debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, Bad Bunny threw a lively album release party at Brooklyn’s iconic Toñita’s social club. The celebration even saw Democratic reps Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Nydia Velázquez hit the dance floor alongside him.
Bad Bunny’s been making waves all over NYC this year — from surprise appearances to hidden performances. One standout moment was when he went undercover with Jimmy Fallon for a subway performance, just before showing up on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
“NUEVAYoL” is the latest drop from Debí Tirar Más Fotos, following earlier singles like “BAILE INoLVIDABLE” and “TURiSTA,” as well as the album’s accompanying short film that brought even more depth to the project’s storytelling.
