Tory Lanez’s dad, Sonstar Peterson, is confident that his son will be out of prison sooner than most expect.
During a chat on Power 106 on Wednesday (July 2), Peterson revealed that Lanez might even be working on a book about his journey. “I believe with all my heart that he’ll be out, and much sooner than people think,” he shared.
When pressed about an exact date for Tory’s release, Peterson didn’t lock anything in but hinted at some serious behind-the-scenes developments.
“I won’t put a date out there just yet, but I will say there are things moving in the background,” he said. “The powers that be are starting to see that this was a setup.”
He added, “Things are happening right now, and like I said, I believe his return is closer than most people realize. He’s coming home.”
Peterson also shed light on what fans can expect from Tory Lanez’s upcoming book. “His book is going to inspire a lot of people,” he said. “It’ll prove that even in the middle of the darkest storm, you can still come out shining.”
His remarks come just weeks after Lanez was reportedly stabbed 14 times in prison, an attack that left him with collapsed lungs. Following the incident, he was transferred from Tehachapi to a new facility — California Men’s Colony in San Luis Obispo County.
The news of the stabbing sparked an outpouring of support, including from Drake, who previously called for Lanez’s release. The rapper reposted a petition on his Instagram Story with the caption, “@torylanez come soon.” That petition has already gathered over 322,000 signatures.
