Ye couldn’t stop gushing about Kendrick’s Super Bowl performance.
He jumped online with a video sharing his thoughts: “really loved the show,” and put it right up there with Michael Jackson’s legendary 1993 halftime performance.
“It was my favorite halftime show since like the Michael Jackson era, which I kinda just barely remember. I’ve just be seeing clips of it. [Lamar’s] was super simple. The flag was fresh. They did ‘Be Humble’—the way people’s heads were moving, I was just like shook. This is like super fresh. The man’s voice control, all that. Then they build up the controversy on whether he’s gonna do the record [‘Not Like Us’]. And then at the end, I’m seeing people say, ‘This is the worst halftime show.’ Everybody I talked to in real life said, ‘This is the best halftime show.'”
Kendrick lit up the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show on Sunday night with an unforgettable mix of classics and fresh tracks. The show was packed with sneaky shots at Drake, from Kenny’s lowercase A chain to straight-up calling out the 6 God with a smirk right into the camera.
Looking back, MJ’s epic Super Bowl XXVII show went down over three decades ago, during the game where the Dallas Cowboys took down the Buffalo Bills.
