Young Thug Sets First Headline Show Since Prison Release

Young Thug is making his comeback to live performances after spending more than two years in jail on YSL RICO charges, with his release finally coming in October.

Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash festival revealed its impressive 2025 lineup on Thursday, featuring Young Thug as the Sunday night headliner to close out the event. Don Toliver and Yeat will headline the opening night, while Future takes the Saturday slot.

The festival runs from June 20-22 and will also feature performances from Chance the Rapper, Trippie Redd, Sexyy Red, Lil Yachty, and Quavo.

The Summer Smash festival will be Young Thug’s first headlining show since being released from prison after pleading guilty in his lengthy RICO case. Besides a few guest features with collaborators like Lil Baby and Playboi Carti, the rapper has kept a low profile since getting out.

After his June performance at Summer Smash, Thug is scheduled to appear at festivals in Belgium (Les Ardentes in Liège) and Switzerland (Openair Frauenfeld).

Metro Boomin revealed earlier this year that he’s been working with Thug on his first post-prison studio album. While incarcerated in 2023, Thug released Business Is Business, which Metro executive produced.

Though the release date remains unknown, it’s evident that Young Thug is preparing for a big comeback this year.
