Damon Wayans Dishes on His Sitcom Paydays: ‘I Made a Lot of Money Off ‘My Wife & Kids”

Damon Wayans is being totally upfront about the cash he raked in from his hit sitcom, My Wife & Kids.

The legendary comedian and actor recently chatted with Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay, where the host brought up Bentley Evans’ claims that he and Jamie Foxx never saw a single syndication check from The Jamie Foxx Show.

Wayans made it clear his experience was completely different.

“It was on a network, right?” he said about The Jamie Foxx Show, which ran on The WB. “I made a lot of money off of My Wife & Kids. I can’t relate to that.”

“With WB, my brothers didn’t really make money off the Wayan’s Brothers show. Like I said, I made a lot of money from Wife & Kids. I still get checks,” he added, flashing a smile at the camera. “Not to rub it in but I still get checks.”

My Wife & Kids ran from March 2001 to May 2005, lasting five seasons. It went into syndication in September 2005, getting picked up by several Tribune stations.

The Jamie Foxx Show also ran for five seasons from 1996 to 2001, matching The Wayans Bros., which aired from 1995 to 1999. The latter was syndicated on networks including UPN and WGN.
