Tia and Tamera Mowry rang in their 47th birthday with touching messages to one another on social media.
On Sunday, the iconic twin sisters marked their special day with heartfelt posts. Tia shared a cheerful Instagram carousel filled with snapshots of herself, Tamera, and their brothers Tahj and Tavior, captioned, “And just like that we are 47.”
Tamera responded to Tia’s post with a heartfelt message of her own, sharing collages and nostalgic throwback photos from their childhood and career highlights.
“Happy 47th birthday to my twin, Tia! It’s crazy to think we’ve been doing life together for 47 years,” she wrote. “From the silly moments to the tough ones, you’ve always had this determination to keep going and growing — no matter what life throws your way. I love you more than words can say. Here’s to us, to sisterhood, and spending our birthday today! Together.”
The emotional birthday exchange between Tia and Tamera Mowry comes after a period of distance in their relationship. In her 2024 WeTV docuseries Tia Mowry: My Next Act, Tia opened up about how her divorce and shifting family dynamics made her long for a closer bond with Tamera.
“It’s times like this when I feel and wish that my sister and I were still close and I could pick up the phone and call her,” she shared in a preview for the show. “But that’s just not where we are right now.”
Hints of a reconciliation began surfacing later that year when Tamera clarified there was no bad blood between them, revealing she’d been invited to the family Christmas gathering. “Every Christmas, we invite our entire family. This year my sister’s invited, my brothers, my mom, my dad, pretty much everybody in the family,” she said.
