D4vd has reportedly been uncooperative with authorities as they investigate the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
People reports that a source connected to the Los Angeles Police Department said the singer-songwriter, whose real name is David Burke, has not been cooperative since the beginning of the case. The Withered artist still hasn’t sat down for an interview with detectives and is now considered a suspect.
With the medical examiner’s and toxicology reports still pending, police haven’t pursued any charges or made an arrest. “We are working to determine if her death was a murder or something else,” the source said, adding that investigators believe she died sometime in the spring.
Rivas was found on September 8 — dismembered, decomposed, and placed inside a plastic bag in the trunk of an impounded Tesla registered to D4vd.
At the time, he was on his Withered World Tour, though the remaining dates were canceled shortly after the discovery. That same month, the LAPD executed a search warrant at his Hollywood Hills home, which he later moved out of.
Rivas Hernandez reportedly had ongoing conflicts with her family and had been reported missing from the Lake Elsinore area several times in 2024. She was last seen on April 5, 2024.
More recently, the landlord of D4vd’s former rental hired a private investigator who suggested her death may have followed drug use gone wrong. The PI also revealed that the Tesla had been parked in several different locations throughout the neighborhood before being impounded, and that “heavy-duty tools and machinery” were found in the home D4vd vacated.
