Lil Pump Takes Aim at J. Cole, Says He “Went Ghost” After Kendrick Lamar Apology: “Soft-Ass Sh*t”

Lil Pump has spoken out about J. Cole’s 2024 apology to Kendrick Lamar following his diss on “7 Minute Drill.”

After Kendrick Lamar dismissed the idea of a so-called “Big Three” — himself, Cole, and Drake — on his “Like That” collaboration with Future and Metro Boomin, Cole responded with “7 Minute Drill.” He later removed the track from his Might Delete Later mixtape. Prior to the release of “Like That,” Cole had referenced the “Big Three” on his 2023 collaboration with Drake, “First Person Shooter.”

Now, years after the two-time Grammy winner stepped away from the Kendrick-Drake feud, Lil Pump weighed in on the situation during a conversation with Akademiks.

Back in 2018, Cole was widely believed to have taken shots at so-called “mumble rap” artists on his K.O.D. track “1985,” prompting Pump to label him a “lame ass jit” before the two eventually sat down face-to-face.

In his recent interview with Ak, Pump described Cole’s apology to Kendrick as “soft” and compared it to his own past issues with The Off-Season rapper.

“That’s some soft-ass shit,” Pump said, adding that the North Carolina rapper “threw a rock over the bush.”

“And then he kept going after that. I’m like, ‘Bro, I’m 17 years old and you 40-something,’” Pump continued. “And then you let a 17-year-old get under your skin? That means I’m doing something right with you.”

When Ak asked why Cole never apologized to him, the “Gucci Gang” rapper didn’t hold back, calling him a “fucking pussy.”

“The first thing I did when I walked in his fucking house is go in his refrigerator and start eating hella snacks,” Pump added, recalling a visit to Cole’s home. “I went straight to that boy’s fridge. Hot dog, chips, cereal, boom. … Yeah, no type of respect for that man’s house.”

Questions about Cole’s spot in the so-called “Big Three” have also come up elsewhere, with Fat Joe raising the topic on a recent episode of the Joe and Jada podcast. Separately, Charlamagne Tha God suggested the era was over altogether, noting that Kendrick and Drake were the only two who truly “engaged” with each other.
