Drake says fans will have to wait it out—because the release date for his long-awaited album ICEMAN will only be revealed once a special ice structure fully melts.
He also made it clear that fans in Toronto aren’t allowed to interfere or touch the installation to speed things up. The warning comes after he teased the unique rollout, with the melting ice acting as the countdown to the big announcement. Since Sunday night, clips and photos of the structure have been making rounds across social media.
When Kurrco posted the update on X (formerly Twitter) Monday afternoon, reactions came in fast—and loud. “LET US WORRY ABOUT OUR SAFETY N***A WE GETTING THAT RELEASE DATE,” one fan fired back. Another, however, applauded the idea, writing, “This is genius because people are going to keep checking in to see if the ice has fully melted. It is an extremely effective way to promote a release date, and will remain in people’s memories. This is an artistic event, not just a simple reveal.”
Even though Drake has been teasing ICEMAN since last year, he’s still keeping most of the details under wraps. So far, he’s dropped three tracks—”What Did I Miss?,” “Which One” with Central Cee, and “Dog House” featuring Yeat and Julia Wolf. Beyond those names, the rest of the album’s lineup remains a mystery.
Even with limited info, speculation about the release has been going wild lately. Drake was recently seen shooting a music video in Toronto, while Anthony Fantano claimed he heard the album could drop within days.
