It looks like Ebro might have been onto something when he suggested Ice Spice’s McDonald’s altercation could’ve been a promo move tied to an upcoming collab.
Ice Spice and Wendy’s seem to be cooking up something major—and they’re throwing a little shade at McDonald’s while at it. The fast-food brand jumped on X (Twitter) to hint at a potential partnership, posting, “THIS would happen at Wendy’s [eyeballs emoji],” in a subtle jab.
The post featured a photo of the Bronx rapper rocking an iced-out “Ice Spicy” chain. She also switched things up with a red wig and matching red outfit, clearly channeling Wendy’s signature look.
For now, details are still under wraps, but fans are already speculating. Some believe a special combo meal could be on the way, while others think it might be a brand-new menu item.
This might also be Ice Spice’s way of rolling out a new single. Interestingly, she teased a track just last weekend, using audio from the song over footage of the Hollywood McDonald’s fight.
Her caption on the teaser read, “this wouldn’t happen at Wendy’s.”
That move is part of why some people think the whole incident may have been a calculated play to grab more attention.
Ebro was among those pushing that theory. “This is kinda what made me feel like this might be kinda promo,” he said, suggesting the situation felt staged. He went on to explain that his take comes from Ice Spice not having much happening at the moment. “Y’all know I be looking for promo,” he joked, before adding, “Ice Spice needs promo right now… I feel like it was wrestling.”
On the flip side, Ice Spice’s legal team insists it was no stunt. Her attorney, Bradford Cohen, made it clear they plan to take legal action. “The unprovoked attack on my client has been reported to the LAPD and we will be pursuing any and all avenues to hold the perpetrators responsible for their actions, including criminally and civilly. We are also exploring holding the location responsible for their lack of appropriate security.”
As for how things played out, Ice Spice and a friend were reportedly eating at McDonald’s when a fan approached them. The woman, identified as Vayah, claims she was simply trying to greet the rapper. However, she alleges the encounter turned sour, accusing the artist of being rude and calling her names.
