Billie Eilish, just like many fans, is still waiting on Rihanna to finally drop her long-awaited ninth album.
While promoting her first 3D concert film, Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour, the 10-time Grammy winner spoke with ELLE and was asked to name three songs currently in her “heavy rotation.”
“‘I’ll Be Seeing You’ by Billie Holiday, ‘Caribbean Blue’ by Enya, ‘Twilight’ by Elliott Smith,” the “CHIHIRO” artist listed before adding, “If Rihanna ever fucking makes R9, then I’m excited for that.”
Just like Billie Eilish is a fan of the nine-time Grammy winner, Rihanna has shown that the admiration goes both ways. Back in 2024, the Anti artist even named Eilish as her “dream collaborator.”
In a 2024 interview, Billie Eilish admitted she was convinced Rihanna’s comment had to be a joke at first.
“I literally thought it was AI, first of all,” Eilish said. “I’ve never met Rihanna. She’s literally my idol. She’s the greatest of all time. She’s my complete dream collab.”
“I would think, like, ‘She probably doesn’t even like me,’” she added. “I’ve never heard from her, and I’ve never had any interaction with her, so why would I have ever even thought about it?”
Rihanna later reacted to Eilish’s disbelief, calling the 10-time Grammy winner “the most anti-coolest girl ever.”
“In my mind she doesn’t listen to commercial music. … I feel like she’s just creating her diary vocally,” Rihanna shared in an interview with Access Hollywood.
