Chris Brown addressed the response to his newest album, showing appreciation to fans while acknowledging the mixed reactions it’s been getting online.
Over the weekend, the singer took to his Instagram Story to speak on the feedback surrounding the project. In his message, Brown noted that he understands not everyone will feel the same way about the music, but believes opinions can shift over time.
“Just wanna say thank you to everyone who listened to this album,” Brown wrote. “Been a lot of mixed reviews and I can take my audience’s criticism and opinions.”

Chris Brown went on to compare the current reception to how fans initially reacted to some of his earlier projects.
“The last 3 albums have came under the same scrutiny and it eventually grew on people,” he continued. “Thank you for even taking the time out to listen.”
He paired the message with a red heart emoji, keeping the focus on gratitude rather than clapping back at critics.
Over time, Brown’s albums have consistently sparked mixed reactions from both fans and critics, especially due to their lengthy tracklists and genre-blending mix of R&B, pop, hip-hop, and melodic sounds. Still, despite the debates, his recent releases have continued to perform well commercially. Projects like Breezy, 11:11, and 11:11 (Deluxe) all charted high on Billboard, with 11:11 even earning him a Grammy for Best R&B Album.
Tracks such as “Call Me Every Day” featuring Wizkid, “Under the Influence,” “Summer Too Hot,” “Sensational” featuring Davido and Lojay, and “Residuals” have all built strong momentum across streaming platforms, radio, TikTok, and social media. “Under the Influence,” in particular, saw a major resurgence years after its release, turning into one of Brown’s biggest global hits in recent times.
Several of these tracks also grew into fan favorites over time, including “Call Me Every Day,” “Under the Influence,” “Summer Too Hot,” “Sensational,” and “Residuals.”
