Boosie Badazz recently shared his frustration over professional basketball players wearing nail polish in a new post online.
On Sunday (May 24), the rapper took to X to say he believes the NBA should “ban fingernail polish,” seemingly taking aim at Jared McCain. The 22-year-old basketball star is widely known for wearing nail polish and even has a partnership with beauty brand Sally Hansen.

In 2023, Complex interviewed Jared McCain, who revealed that he first started painting his nails during quarantine.
“I never saw anything wrong with it,” McCain explained. “I understand girls do it. I understand men have started to do it a little more recently, but it was just something I saw and I like to get manicures and pedicures. I take care of my body.”
Addressing criticism from online trolls, McCain also said, “The hate is funny because it’s usually grown men most of the time and it’s like you’re a grown man just hating on a kid. It doesn’t affect me at all. I kind of just laugh at it.”
Boosie Badazz has previously faced backlash over comments many viewed as homophobic. In 2024, he also compared men wearing nail polish to men wearing thongs.

Earlier that same year, Boosie Badazz revealed that he walked out of a screening for the remake of The Color Purple after seeing a kiss between the characters Celie, played by Fantasia Barrino, and Shug Avery, portrayed by Taraji P. Henson.
Although the relationship between the two characters was already part of The Color Purple by Alice Walker, Boosie claimed on social media that the filmmakers were “pushing the narrative hard” and said he would not allow his daughters to watch the movie.
