Kanye West has shared a straightforward yet revealing explanation behind one of the most discussed aspects of his recent performances.
During a recent appearance on PlaqueboyMax’s livestream, the rapper and producer was asked about the giant Earth-inspired stage that has served as the focal point of his latest series of shows.
“Coming back, standing on top of the world after everything we’ve been through, just to come back on top of the world,” he said.
The comment appears to reflect Kanye West’s view that he has remained a prominent figure despite years of controversy, intense public scrutiny, business losses, and setbacks within the entertainment industry.
In recent years, the Chicago-born artist has faced numerous personal and professional obstacles, including the termination of major corporate partnerships, canceled appearances, and widespread backlash over his antisemitic remarks.
More recently, officials in Italy canceled planned performances by West and Travis Scott at the Pulse of Gaia festival in Reggio Emilia after raising concerns about public safety, crowd control, and the possibility of protests. Authorities also reportedly considered the controversy surrounding West’s past antisemitic comments during their assessment.
The cancellation also impacted Scott’s scheduled appearance, with officials pointing to concerns over the large crowds expected at the event. The decision marks another hurdle in West’s ongoing efforts to reestablish himself on the global concert stage.
