Resurfaced Diddy Video Sparks Attention After He Invited 12-Year-Old ‘Lilo & Stitch’ Actress to After-Party Event

A recently resurfaced clip from the 2003 MTV Movie Awards has drawn renewed attention to an interaction between Sean “Diddy” Combs and actress Daveigh Chase when she was just 12 years old.

In the footage, Combs, who was 33 at the time, is seen approaching Chase backstage while holding a drink. During the brief exchange, he asks the young actress if she plans to attend the after-party that evening.

“You coming to the after-party tonight?” he says in the clip. After Chase nods in response, Combs laughs and replies, “Yeah!”

Daveigh Chase is best known for voicing Lilo in Disney’s 2002 animated hit Lilo & Stitch and for providing the English-language voice of Chihiro in Studio Ghibli’s Oscar-winning Spirited Away. She began her acting career at just 4 years old and also appeared in films such as Donnie Darko.

Chase passed away on June 16 at the age of 35 following complications from bacterial meningitis, which reportedly led to bloodstream infections, sepsis, and multiple organ failure. Reports indicated that she had been experiencing homelessness and severe malnutrition while living in Los Angeles’ Skid Row area. Prior to that, she had spent several months living in an RV with her boyfriend.

Speaking to the BBC after her death, Chase’s longtime manager, John Ryan Jr., remembered her fondly.

“She was the greatest. She loved cats. She worked with cat rescues with us. She was very to herself,” he said. “She was not very Hollywood. She’d rather eat at Bob’s Big Boy and go home with the cats. She loved acting but wasn’t into the fame scene.”

Ryan also revealed that Chase’s struggles with heroin and fentanyl addiction allegedly prevented her from accessing what he described as millions of dollars in unpaid Disney residuals. According to him, SAG-AFTRA records repeatedly showed unclaimed funds in her name. He and Chase’s stepsister, Gaia Brown, reportedly hired a private investigator in an effort to locate her and help arrange rehabilitation, but eventually lost contact.

Meanwhile, Sean “Diddy” Combs remains incarcerated following his July 2025 conviction on two felony counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was later sentenced to 50 months in federal prison and is currently serving his sentence at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey. His projected release date is February 23, 2028.

Combs’ legal team has since filed appeals challenging both his conviction and the sentence handed down by the court.
