Lil Nas X Celebrates Return Home After Rehab Stay: “Out of Rehab I Guess”

Lil Nas X is officially back in the spotlight.

On Sunday night, the “Old Town Road” hitmaker returned to X with a pair of fresh selfies showing off his grills and letting fans know he was back home.

“Out of rehab i guess,” he wrote alongside the photos before adding, “Hi guysss!”

The post quickly caught fans’ attention, marking Lil Nas X’s latest update after spending some time away from the public eye.

Earlier this month, Lil Nas X opened up on Instagram about being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, revealing that he had suspected it for years but struggled to accept it.

“I didn’t want to have to take medication and have people think different of me,” he shared.

Reflecting on the diagnosis, he added, “I’m already Black and gay, like damn, God. Come on, Black, gay, and bipolar? I’m living life on extreme hard mode. On a serious note, I’m doing much better, I’m feeling better. I’m creating freely, and there’s less fear in my heart, and I’m smelling the roses. I’ve been doing music for seven years now. Speaking of music, I want to let you guys know there’s new music on the way. I’m not getting completely to it just yet, but I’m excited to do that.”

The rapper also revealed that he spent several months receiving treatment at a rehabilitation facility.

“Since then, I’ve been back at home, whether it’s in Atlanta with my family, or in Los Angeles with myself and friends or whatnot, and trying to ground myself down to earth and get out of my head,” he explained. “I have a therapist now and a psychiatrist, which has been really helpful.”

His update comes after he participated in a mental health diversion program related to felony battery charges. Last August, Lil Nas X was reportedly arrested after walking naked along Ventura Boulevard at around 4 a.m. Authorities alleged that he charged toward officers when they arrived at the scene.

He was subsequently charged with three felony counts of battery causing injury to a police officer and one felony count of resisting an executive officer. Lil Nas X pleaded not guilty and was held on $75,000 bail.

Rather than serving jail time, he completed a mental health diversion program as part of the legal process.
