DDG shared his opinion that it is not very “straight” for a man to watch Love Island USA alone.
During a stream on Sunday (July 5), DDG claimed that watching the dating reality series without a girlfriend was “gay.”
“I haven’t watched Love Island,” he said, seemingly referring to the current Season 8 of Love Island USA. “You know why? Because I ain’t got nobody to watch it with, and I think it’s gay to watch Love Island by yourself. If you’re a n***a and you’re watching Love Island solo, you might be bisexual.”
He went on to explain his reasoning, comparing the show’s romantic moments to something close to softcore adult content.
“That shit like damn near soft [porn], and you just sitting in that bitch watching motherfuckers kiss,” he told his viewers in the clip. “You just sitting in that bitch watching motherfuckers kiss each other. It’s a little bisexual, you feel me? You might as well go on Twitter.”
The rapper and streamer may currently be single, if his comment about having “no one to watch it with” is anything to go by. However, he was previously in a relationship with Halle Bailey, with whom he shares a son. The pair went through a highly publicized split and a difficult custody battle before reaching an agreement last fall.
Months later, DDG was rumored to be dating influencer India Love, but she quickly dismissed those rumors, explaining that they were simply “good friends.”
Last year, DDG also launched his own dating show, Are You My Ball. However, it remains unclear whether he has the same opinion about men watching that series without their girlfriends.
