Travis Scott is facing a new civil lawsuit tied to an alleged incident that took place in Miami in 2024. As fans may recall, the rapper was arrested at the time on charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing, though those charges were later dismissed.
Before that arrest, Travis Scott allegedly became involved in an altercation with several yacht employees, including the vessel’s captain. The workers have now filed a lawsuit seeking damages, accusing the rapper of battery, assault, and false imprisonment.
According to TMZ, the situation escalated after Scott reportedly wanted to take one of the yacht’s Jet Skis. The captain allegedly refused, believing the rapper was too intoxicated to operate it safely. That decision is said to have triggered the confrontation.
According to the lawsuit, Travis Scott then instructed the captain to head to a marina before allegedly jumping off the yacht onto a nearby dock, leaving the remaining passengers and crew stranded for about 30 minutes. When he eventually returned, the captain had reportedly ended the outing, prompting another confrontation. The lawsuit claims Scott attacked the captain and threatened to kill him. It also alleges that when security stepped in, Scott fired one of his security guards on the spot.
The lawsuit further accuses Scott of assaulting several marina employees during the incident. Among the allegations is a claim that he shoved a female worker into a nearby table. If the plaintiffs’ claims are upheld in court, the rapper could face significant financial damages.
