Newly released body camera footage is providing a closer look at the April arrest of Jammiah Broomfield. The rapper and mother of one of Kodak Black’s children is facing a drug trafficking charge in Broward County.
The footage, released this week and shared by NBC 6 in Miami, shows detectives pursuing Broomfield on foot before eventually taking her into custody in Fort Lauderdale. After being placed in handcuffs, Broomfield pleaded with officers to let her go, saying she would cooperate because she was concerned another arrest would prevent her from being released.
“If I go to jail with a new charge, I’m not getting out,” she said in the video.
Authorities say the case began after an incident on April 2, when detectives allegedly attempted to pull over a black Tesla driven by Broomfield. According to the arrest report, she allegedly fled the scene, driving recklessly before abandoning the vehicle and escaping on foot. Investigators later located her days afterward, resulting in the arrest shown in the newly released footage.
Police said they discovered 29.5 grams of a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine during a field test inside the Tesla, along with $1,010 in cash. Investigators alleged that Broomfield told detectives she had collected the drugs for her boyfriend. She was later charged with methamphetamine trafficking, resisting an officer without violence, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
Broomfield, who has pursued a music career while also sharing a son with Kodak Black, has not publicly addressed the release of the footage. Her attorney had also not responded to requests for comment from the media at the time of publication.
