Usher Invites Fans Inside His Atlanta Mansion Featuring a Private Barbershop, Luxury Artwork, and More
Usher gave fans a glimpse into his Atlanta residence, a stunning home filled with incredible artwork and shared with his wife Jennifer Raymond and their four children.
The latest cover story from Architectural Digest takes viewers on a personal tour of the R&B superstar’s Georgian-style mansion, which includes a private barbershop, basketball court, yoga area, and a collection of artwork large enough to rival a museum. The 8-time Grammy winner is currently headlining the Raymond & Brown (R&B) Tour alongside Chris Brown.
Joining Usher and his wife of two years in the mansion are his children: sons Usher “Cinco” V, 18, Naviyd, 17, and Sire, 4, as well as his daughter Sovereign, 5.
Usher designed the vision for the home alongside his longtime interior designer Nicole Fuller, marking the fourth residence the pair have worked on together.
Five Gordon Parks portraits serve as the centerpiece of Usher’s foyer, including a 1956 image capturing a Black woman and child standing outside the “colored entrance” of a department store in Mobile, Alabama. The powerful photograph is one of the first pieces guests encounter when entering the home, and it helped establish the house’s color scheme and emotional tone.
“I’m rebranding things,” Usher told AD, acknowledging that the approach may not resonate with everyone. “We cannot forget our history. But what we can reframe is being able to move forward.”
The mansion features an impressive collection of paintings and photographs from numerous Black artists, including Lauren Halsey, Romare Bearden, Fabiola Jean-Louis, Nathaniel Mary Quinn, Jammie Holmes, Tyler Mitchell, and others. Usher purchased his first commissioned artwork from street artist and muralist Renata when he was 21, a moment he says transformed his creative perspective.
“That’s when my lens changed, that’s when my creative eye opened, [and] that’s when I started to be more experimental with my music,” he recalled.
Several pieces throughout the home hold deep personal meaning for Usher, including artwork connected to his late grandmother Tina and his former mentee Justin Bieber. Sovereign’s bedroom features a painting by Bieber, while another room displays Usher’s grandmother’s piano beneath a cross-shaped window, accompanied by dried flowers from her funeral.
Beyond the private barbershop, the mansion also includes a “Gentleman’s Lounge” designed for cigar sessions that doubles as a trophy room. Adding a playful touch to the space is a sculpture titled “Bad Cherries,” which appears to reference Usher’s viral cherry-feeding moments from his past Las Vegas residency and his 2024 Past Present Future Tour.
