Aaron Pierre Reveals He Is Single After Breakup With Teyana Taylor

Aaron Pierre is officially back on the dating scene.

The Lanterns actor confirmed that he is single during a recent appearance on TODAY, putting an end to months of speculation following reports that he and singer-actress Teyana Taylor had ended their relationship.

Pierre’s relationship status came up after the hosts discussed the massive attention he has received online, with fans praising him as one of Hollywood’s newest rising stars and even dubbing him “the Internet’s boyfriend.”

Instead of dismissing the attention, the 32-year-old actor said he appreciates the love and support from fans.

“We’re all only human,” Pierre said. “I would be lying to you if I said it wasn’t warmly received. I’m very appreciative of it. It definitely makes me smile.”

When asked outright whether he was single, Pierre gave a straightforward response: “I am.”

Still, Pierre made it clear that this phase of his life is focused less on romance and more on becoming a better version of himself.

“I’m just very locked into being the best father I can be, and being the best artist I can be,” he explained.

The confirmation comes after Pierre’s highly publicized relationship with Teyana Taylor. The pair sparked dating rumors in early 2025 before confirming their romance later that summer. Pierre also appeared with Taylor in the music video for her single “Long Time.”

Reports later claimed the couple had split toward the end of 2025, though neither Pierre nor Taylor publicly revealed the reason behind their breakup.

Outside of his personal life, Pierre’s career continues to gain momentum. He is preparing to make his debut as John Stewart in HBO’s highly anticipated Lanterns, where he will star alongside Kyle Chandler, who plays fellow Green Lantern Hal Jordan. The series follows the two heroes as they investigate a murder case that leads them into a much deeper conspiracy on Earth.

Reflecting on being chosen for the iconic DC role, Pierre said the opportunity was incredibly meaningful.

“It was a dream come true,” he said. “John is such a beautifully dynamic and complex character, and it was just a joy and a privilege.”

With Lanterns set to premiere on Aug. 16 and his upcoming role in Star Wars: Starfighter arriving in 2027, Pierre appears to have plenty keeping him busy — even if that means putting dating on the back burner for now.
