Charlamagne tha God is making it clear that he wants Brandy kept away from the drama surrounding her brother Ray J’s boxing match on Saturday night.
After Ray J secured a unanimous-decision win over Orlando Brown at State Farm Arena on Aug. 15, Brandy became involved in a tense exchange with boxer-turned-streamer Adrien Broner. Charlamagne was clearly not impressed with the situation and argued that Brandy shouldn’t be caught up in the chaos. “I just don’t like seeing Brandy in that mix,” he said, referring to the surrounding drama as a “n***a mess” — his words, not ours — according to a YouTube clip.
Brandy attended the event at State Farm Arena to support her brother, who defeated Brown on a Salita Promotions card headlined by Claressa Shields and streamed on Zeus Network. During a pre-fight livestream, Broner accused Brandy of ignoring him after she entered a room and greeted other people before speaking to him. “She just walked past me, but it’s alright,” Broner said on the stream. The footage shows Brandy acknowledging Broner before moving toward others in the room, including Ray J.
Brandy appeared surprised by Broner’s reaction. “I didn’t walk past you. I spoke to you,” she calmly told him. She also remarked that “the energy in here is interesting” before leaving with her security.
Streamer DeenTheGreat then stepped in to defend Brandy, telling Broner, “That gotta stop,” before the situation escalated between the two men. Broner was also reportedly trying to resolve his issues with Brandy backstage before the fight, prompting Ray J to step in and tell him, “It’s not okay.”
This isn’t the first time Brandy has been pulled into the public drama surrounding Ray J. During the buildup to his fight with Orlando Brown, Brown repeatedly referred to Ray J as “Brandy’s brother,” including at a June press conference where he slapped Ray J across the face with a stack of cash. Ahead of the Aug. 15 matchup, Brown also provoked Ray J by saying, “Brandy don’t even talk to you until you talk to me.” Ray J attempted to keep his sister out of the feud, responding, “Let’s keep this between me and you.”
