The Weeknd has completed his seven-show UK tour run, raising more than $350,000 for the United Nations World Food Programme and Global Citizen.
The singer recently wrapped up a five-night residency at Wembley Stadium in August, following two earlier performances at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium on June 11 and 12. The run attracted more than 450,000 fans from nearly 150 countries.
Alongside traditional ticket sales, Global Citizen offered fans another way to attend the After Hours Til Dawn tour by earning ticket access through taking action on campaigns aimed at fighting global poverty. The initiative helped generate over $350,000 in donations.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan highlighted the wider impact of The Weeknd’s residency on the city’s economy.
“London has been hugely proud to welcome The Weeknd for more shows than any other city in the world this year,” Khan said in a statement. “His five performances have brought hundreds of thousands of fans to Wembley Stadium, providing a huge boost to our tourism and hospitality industries, and showing why London is the music capital of the world.”
The charitable efforts continue a history of giving connected to The Weeknd’s XO Humanitarian Fund, which he launched with a personal donation of $500,000 in March 2022.
The European stretch of the After Hours Til Dawn tour is set to continue with two sold-out performances at Croke Park in Dublin on August 22 and 23. The tour will then travel through cities including Madrid, Barcelona and Lisbon before heading to Asia, where the final show is scheduled for November 5 in Kuala Lumpur.
