Kesha Embraces Freedom in First-Ever Lingerie Campaign as a “Free Woman”

Sixteen years after Kesha encouraged the world to “Take It Off,” the pop star is now embracing that message herself — but this time, completely on her own terms.

On Thursday, August 27, the Grammy-nominated artist launched her first-ever lingerie campaign with Adore Me, sharing a series of Instagram photos that showcased a new chapter of confidence, freedom, and self-expression.

“My collection with @adoreme is live! LOVED shooting my first-ever lingerie campaign as a free woman,” Kesha wrote in the caption of her post. “Check out this hot & dangerous lingerie designed for feeling confident in your own skin.”

The post quickly attracted plenty of reactions from fans and celebrities. Body-confidence creator Rachel K. Grim celebrated the moment, writing, “YESSS the face of being a free woman lets goooo,” while rock icon Sammy Hagar commented, “whoa whoa whoa hold on here you’re something else.”

For Kesha, the phrase “free woman” carries a deeper meaning.

For almost a decade, the singer was involved in a highly publicized legal battle with producer Dr. Luke after accusing him of drugging and sexually assaulting her. Dr. Luke denied the allegations and filed a defamation lawsuit against her. The two eventually reached a settlement in June 2023, and Kesha’s recording agreement with Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records, which was distributed by RCA, came to an end later that year after she completed her contractual obligations.

She has remained in full control of her career ever since.

In 2024, Kesha launched her own label, Kesha Records, through a distribution partnership that allows her to maintain ownership of her music and have complete creative control over her work. Her first independent album, . (Period), arrived in 2025, and this summer she brought that same sense of independence to the stage with her appropriately titled Freedom Tour, which comes to an end this weekend.
