Drake has had an incredibly busy few months. The rapper released three albums on May 15th, and on Tuesday, he added to the momentum by dropping his new short film, “FOMO,” which has since been removed from YouTube.
Simply put, “FOMO” turned out to be the perfect title for the film. If you weren’t able to catch it live, you missed your chance. Although pirated clips have started circulating across social media, watching the full stream through conventional channels remains difficult.
That limited availability has only fueled even more hype around Drake. He has been in full-on marketing mode throughout the year, and so far, the strategy appears to be paying off in a major way.
According to Kurrco, Drake has reclaimed the No. 1 spot on Spotify’s Global Top Artists chart. The rapper took the position from none other than Bad Bunny.
Throughout the “FOMO” short film, fans got to hear some previously unreleased Drake music. The project featured collaborations with Yeat and Don Toliver, giving hip-hop fans plenty to be excited about. The tracks sounded polished and intentional, with no indication that they were simply leftovers from previous sessions.
As 2026 enters its final quarter, the question now is whether Drake can maintain this momentum. There’s also growing curiosity about whether another album could be on the way. If that happens, the conversation surrounding Drake’s impact on rap in 2026 could get even louder.
