Trey Songz has faced numerous accusations over the years involving alleged sexual misconduct, resulting in settlements, dismissals, and other legal developments. In 2021, a woman named Jauhara Jeffries sued him over an alleged sexual assault that she said occurred in 2018, eventually reaching a settlement with him in 2025. Now, according to court documents reportedly obtained by TMZ, she is seeking a substantial portion of the settlement to help move forward with her life.
The alleged sexual assault victim is asking the court to release a sizable portion of the money the singer paid as part of the settlement. Court documents and statements from Jeffries indicate that the settlement funds are currently being held in an escrow account controlled by the court while a lien issue is resolved. She reportedly requested that 55 percent of the total settlement be released, or alternatively, any amount exceeding $69,950.52, which reportedly indicates the settlement is worth at least around $70,000.
Jauhara Jeffries reportedly told the court that she needs access to the funds as soon as possible, claiming the delay in releasing the settlement money is keeping her from handling important matters in her life. Although the court reportedly rejected her request, a hearing regarding the issue is expected to take place later this month.
Jeffries’ 2021 lawsuit against Trey Songz alleged that he non-consensually put his fingers inside her vagina at a Florida nightclub in 2018. She claimed she had been partying with him at Diddy’s home during a New Year’s Eve celebration before later heading to a club with Songz and several other women after being invited by the singer.
Despite the alleged encounter, Jeffries reportedly said she later got into Trey’s vehicle that night but was kicked out after refusing to give him her phone. Trey Songz denied the allegations.
Trey Songz has also dealt with other legal issues in recent months, including a New York brawl case from nearly two months ago that ultimately did not result in jail time. The singer has also pursued legal action of his own over some of his encounters with law enforcement.
The singer sued the Kansas City Police Department over what he alleged was a wrongful arrest in 2021. Charges stemming from the incident, including resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer, were later dropped by the court.
