PlaqueBoyMax Says He Asked Drake For An “In The Booth” Session

Throughout PlaqueBoyMax’s growing career as a content creator and musician, his collaborations with artists for “In The Booth” sessions have become some of his most popular work. Fans enjoy watching him link up with artists to create music in the studio, and as his profile continues to grow, there’s a chance even more superstar guests could join him. During a recent livestream captured by Our Generation Music on Instagram, PBM revealed that he once attempted to arrange a session with none other than Drake.

“I had an idea. It’s so funny, ’cause he just kind of ended up doing it in a different way. And not doing it, but, you know,” Max revealed. “But basically, last year, when Drake was first announcing ICEMAN and all that s**t, I hit him up. I was like, ‘I want to do an In The Booth with you and I want to basically have you make music in an igloo.’ The whole freezing s**t. Y’all remember how I was doing the custom booths with Central Cee? [Drake] was like, ‘Yo, that’s a fire idea. But I’m on tour, I got a lot of s**t going on. I don’t know if we could do that, I don’t know for sure.’ I was like, ‘Damn.’ That would’ve been cool, though. Shout out Drake.”

Considering Drake’s livestream ventures, he could certainly fit the “In The Booth” format. Whether the two eventually make the session happen remains to be seen, or perhaps PBM will create a similar experience with another creator. Either way, more sessions with major artists appear to be on the horizon for PBM.

PlaqueBoyMax’s reflection looks back at Drake’s ICEMAN release when the project was still in the early stages of its public rollout. This came while Drake was touring Australia, New Zealand, and Europe for $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, with the new album not ultimately arriving until this year.

As for more new Drake material, “FOMO” has arrived in full as a short film featuring a collection of vignettes and music videos from HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR. Fans have embraced the new content he previewed, and it remains to be seen whether he could have more music in store for a potential “In The Booth” session down the line. PlaqueBoyMax, along with plenty of fans, presumably hopes it happens.
