Streamer Bonnie is apologizing after a clip of her appearing to say the N-word while reading a comment from her livestream chat spread across social media.
The moment happened while Bonnie was going through messages from viewers when she started reading one that said, “This is something Bonnie would do the whole stream. N***a went two hours without reading chat.”
Bonnie repeated the slur as she read the message, but quickly realized what she had said. She initially threatened to end the broadcast before choosing to stay live and repeatedly apologizing to her viewers.
“Oh my God, I’m ending stream. I’m ending stream,” she said. “Sorry, I never advocate for that. I’m very, very sorry.”
Bonnie eventually continued the livestream, explaining that it was an accidental mistake and that she felt bad for saying the word.
“I’m not going to end the stream. I’m just going to keep going because that was a mistake,” she said. “I’m sorry. I feel terrible. I feel terrible. I’m sorry.”
The streamer also admitted that she knew the clip would likely make its way across social media almost immediately.
“I’m probably never going to hear the end of it on Twitter,” Bonnie said. “I’m going to be part of a compilation.”
Bonnie also pushed back on the idea that the slip-up was representative of how she normally talks away from the camera.
“Like I said, I do not say it casually, OK? I don’t say it off stream. I don’t say it casually,” she said. “I’ve been streaming for a very, very, very long time.”
The clip quickly made the rounds online Sunday, bringing renewed attention to Bonnie and a previous accusation that she had used the same slur during an earlier stream. That older clip was also disputed, with some viewers insisting she had actually said “new guy.”
Streamer Zoyle brought up the earlier controversy while reacting to the latest incident, saying he didn’t necessarily think Bonnie meant to use the slur but still wasn’t willing to dismiss what happened.
“She ain’t say new guy this time,” he said. “Can’t separate that one, bro.”
Bonnie’s presence in the streaming world has continued to grow over the past year. She was part of Kai Cenat’s Streamer University Class of 2026, the latest installment of Cenat’s creator-focused program designed to bring together aspiring and emerging streamers.
