Taylor Swift isn’t finished surprising her fans. Just a day after revealing that a new single was on the way, she announced that even more music is coming with an expanded edition of The Life of a Showgirl.
On Tuesday, Swift announced that she would release a new single on Friday, Sept. 25. Titled “Patient Zero,” the song’s sound remains under wraps for now, though Swift revealed that it would be “available to pre-order now on my website for 24 hours.”
Then, on Wednesday, Swift confirmed that “Patient Zero” is one of four previously unreleased tracks featured on The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, which is also set to arrive Friday, Sept. 25.
Swift wrote the four songs following the success of her 2025 studio album, The Life of a Showgirl. She opened up about how the tracks came together in a post on Instagram.
“About a year ago, you guys did a truly unfathomable thing. Something that completely blew my mind… You gave The Life of a Showgirl the biggest first week for an album in history,” she wrote alongside a photo of the Encore cover, which shows Swift in a glittering gold mini dress against a burgundy background.
“I took a trip to Sweden to celebrate with Max and Shellback, my two collaborators on this album. Really we just wanted to reflect and take in how grateful we were for the moment we were in, but there was a studio there and we did what we do when we feel anything at all: We wrote more songs,” she added in the post.
Swift wrapped up the message by saying, “I hope you love them, because they were born out of pure gratitude for your exuberance for and celebration of the album we made.”
The post quickly racked up nearly 3 million likes within just a few hours.
“Turning gratitude into four new songs is such a beautiful way to celebrate the album,” one follower said on X.
“Four new songs plus ‘Patient Zero?’ We eating good,” another fan wrote.
“Excitedly waiting for the encore,” another added.
The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore arrives Friday and is currently available to pre-order and save through her official website.
Swift married Travis Kelce in July, making this the first new music she’s released since tying the knot.
