Farrah Abraham is breaking her silence after seven women secured a significant civil verdict against former California mayor Dominic Foppoli, whom she has separately accused of drugging and raping her.
A jury in Sonoma County, California, found Foppoli liable for sexually assaulting seven women and awarded the plaintiffs approximately $13 million in compensatory damages. The jury subsequently added around $2 million in punitive damages . Although Abraham was not a plaintiff in the case, she has a separate lawsuit pending against Foppoli and said the verdict has renewed her hope for justice.
“My first reaction was, thank God there was some justice,” the former Teen Mom star said, according to The New York Post . “My heart just goes out to them. I hope this gives them peace.”
Abraham is one of 14 women who have publicly accused Foppoli of sexual abuse or assault. Foppoli has repeatedly denied engaging in nonconsensual sexual activity, while his attorney confirmed that the defense is considering pursuing a new trial or appealing the verdict.
Abraham claims Foppoli drugged and raped her after she attended a wine-tasting event in Palm Beach, Florida, in March 2021. She reported the alleged incident to police and provided investigators with photographs and videos. However, Palm Beach police eventually suspended their criminal investigation due to evidentiary challenges.
In a separate development, the California Attorney General’s Office declined to pursue criminal charges in 2024 involving other allegations, citing insufficient evidence in cases that had not already been barred by the statute of limitations. Foppoli has never faced criminal charges related to the accusations.
Abraham has repeatedly emphasized the difference between criminal investigations and civil proceedings. Reflecting on the $13 million verdict, she said, “That is very concerning that we are not having criminal justice. We are having civil justice right now.”
She continued, “I am just so happy, I am so grateful that seven other Jane Does got justification. And justice is served.”
The allegations against Foppoli first became public in 2021, when he was serving as mayor of Windsor, a town in California’s Sonoma County Wine Country. He resigned in May of that year as more women came forward and investigations intensified. At the time, Foppoli maintained that he “did not engage in any non-consensual acts with any woman.”
For Abraham, the case brings a much more serious dimension to a period of headlines that has recently focused on her personal life. Earlier this year, the reality star revealed she was preparing for surgery after developing what she described as degenerative disc disease in her jaw, a condition that prevents her from fully opening her mouth .
Her mother, Debra Danielsen, has also reignited their long-standing family feud by publicly challenging Farrah’s claims of childhood abuse .
Abraham’s lawsuit against Foppoli is currently scheduled to go to trial in February 2027.
