Rick Ross Accused of Pulling Girlfriend by Her Hair and Slamming Her Into a Wall

The allegations surrounding Rick Ross’ arrest have emerged in greater detail, painting a more serious picture than the initial battery charges suggested. According to an arrest affidavit obtained by CBS News Miami, a woman who had been romantically involved with Ross for approximately a year told police that he repeatedly assaulted her inside his Star Island home on August 28 and restricted her breathing during a dispute that reportedly stemmed from an Instagram photo.

The woman told investigators that Ross woke her around 7:44 a.m. after noticing she had been tagged in a picture online. The affidavit states that he accused her of lying about another relationship before allegedly slapping her across the face. The argument reportedly continued in a bathroom, where she claimed Ross struck her in the chest and grabbed the collar of her hoodie so tightly that she struggled to breathe.

According to police, the alleged assault intensified from there. The woman accused Ross of pulling her by her ponytail and slamming her into a wall before hitting her in the face with enough force to split her lip. She further alleged that he pushed her to the floor, turned on the shower, and attempted to spray her with the shower head. The affidavit states that she eventually managed to escape the bathroom and later retrieved her belongings after Ross had left the property.

Investigators stated that the woman later provided a sworn statement alongside timestamped photographs documenting her injuries. According to CBS News Miami, police also examined surveillance footage from the property showing a friend arriving to pick her up but being denied access. The affidavit further notes that Ross later shared an Instagram photo of the same friend arriving at the residence.

The allegations bear a striking resemblance to claims made publicly by Jazzma Kendrick just days before Ross turned himself in to police. Kendrick shared photos documenting injuries to her mouth and accused her former partner of physical abuse. She later expressed gratitude to those who supported her and urged women not to stay in relationships where violence occurs. However, police have not publicly confirmed whether Kendrick is the woman named in the criminal case.

Meanwhile, Ross surrendered to authorities on Thursday (Oct. 1) and was charged with felony battery by strangulation and misdemeanor battery. A judge determined there was probable cause, setting his total bond at $5,000 and ordering him to stay away from the alleged victim and turn over any firearms in his possession. Ross was released later that morning and subsequently addressed the allegations.

“First and foremost, I’m totally innocent of the fabricated allegations made against myself,” Ross said following his release. His attorney, Bradley Horenstein, also rejected the accusations, urging the public to allow the legal process to run its course.

The affidavit offers a more detailed account of what police and prosecutors allege took place inside the home that morning. Ross has entered a not-guilty plea, with his arraignment set for October 22.
