Kanye West Splashes Thousands on Pokémon During Shopping Trip With His Kids

Kanye West took over a Burbank trading card shop this week, arranging for the store to close its doors so his children could stock up on Pokémon cards.

According to a source for Page Six, Ye had LA Sports Cards shut down on Wednesday (September 30) and reportedly spent “thousands upon thousands” on Pokémon cards during the shopping trip.

“They shut the store down for him to shop. His kids were so excited,” the source said. “He spent thousands upon thousands on Pokémon cards for them, and they were going crazy opening them.”

Kanye West shares four children with his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian: North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7.

The following day, LA Sports Cards shared photos of West posing with its employees behind the counter, making the visit public. “Always a pleasure having you @ye. Thank you so much for stopping by!” the caption read.

Wednesday’s store takeover wasn’t the family’s first visit to the Burbank location. West was spotted there in May with Psalm, while a friend carried out a large black bag and a white box. Kardashian also stopped by the same shop on her own in February.

Pokémon has seemingly become a family favorite among Ye’s children. Earlier this year, Psalm celebrated his seventh birthday with a Pokémon-themed party featuring a giant Pikachu mascot.
