Shakira Sets New Amazon Music Livestream Record With Madrid Concert

Shakira has set a new Amazon Music record following the livestream of her Madrid concert on Saturday (Oct. 3).

According to Amazon Music’s announcement on Sunday (Oct. 4), Shakira’s performance has become the most-viewed livestream by a female artist on the platform to date. The Colombian superstar took the stage at Shakira Stadium in Madrid as part of her 12-date residency at the venue, attracting a huge online audience in the process. The concert was streamed across Amazon Music, Prime Video, and Twitch.

Shakira is currently on her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, supporting her 2024 album of the same name, and she had a special surprise for fans during the Madrid performance. Dua Lipa joined her onstage for an acoustic version of “Antología,” originally featured on Shakira’s 1995 album, Pies Descalzos.

Dua Lipa later shared her appreciation for the moment on Instagram, writing in Spanish, “I felt that you, me, and the audience were one. Very grateful to take home such a beautiful memory!!!” Dua Lipa had previously performed her own Spanish-language rendition of “Antología” during the Bogotá stop of her Radical Optimism Tour.

Shakira had a temporary music venue constructed at Madrid’s Iberdrola music complex specifically for her concert residency. The residency began last month on Sept. 18 and is set to wrap up with its 12th and final show on Oct. 11.
