Drake said it, and now Keshia Chanté is confirming it too: Drizzy is not the father of her baby.
The Canadian artist announced her pregnancy on Tuesday (Oct. 6), revealing that the child’s father is also involved in the music industry. Rumors quickly began circulating that Drake could be the father, given their longtime friendship and past relationship. (Drake once described her as the “first girlfriend I ever had in my life.”)
Drake’s representative denied the speculation to TMZ, and now Chanté has addressed the rumors herself during a new interview with CP24 on Wednesday.
“He is not the dad,” she said of Drake. “We were talking about it yesterday — like, ‘Why is this happening?’ I don’t know. But no, he’s not the dad.”
Chanté added that the father of her child, whom she said she “love[s] dearly,” also works in the music industry.
“He’s also a public figure, so I’m excited to see my son be this little musical, magical person,” she continued.
