Chris Brown’s Former Housekeeper Seeks His Arrest Over Alleged Failure to Pay $9 Million Settlement

Chris Brown’s former housekeeper, who was attacked by the singer’s dog in 2020, is seeking his arrest over his alleged failure to provide dates for a court appearance related to his $9 million debt.

According to court documents, Maria Avila has asked a Los Angeles judge to issue an arrest warrant for the two-time Grammy winner over his “failure to appear for examination.” Brown’s business, Black Pyramid LLC, is also listed as a co-defendant in the case.

In October, Avila accepted a $9.5 million judgment, slightly lower than the $12.9 million jury award she initially received. Brown’s former employee alleges that he has failed to provide available dates for an appearance where he would be required to present his bank records. This comes despite the substantial earnings he has reportedly made from The R&B Tour, which he co-headlines with Usher.

The lawsuit stems from an incident on December 12, 2020, at Brown’s Tarzana residence, where Avila alleged that the singer’s Caucasian Shepherd attacked her. Avila worked as a housekeeper for Brown alongside her sister, who was also awarded $885,000. She claimed the attack left her with serious injuries and lasting physical and psychological distress.

Meanwhile, Brown is facing another legal matter in the United Kingdom. The singer is scheduled to return to court on Oct. 25 for sentencing in connection with a 2023 assault case. Brown pleaded guilty to the incident, which involved music producer Abe Diaw being attacked at a London nightclub.

Several dates on The R&B Tour have reportedly been cancelled as Brown approaches his court appearance.
