Inde Navarrette Says She’d Love to Return for an ‘Obsession’ Sequel: ‘Are You Kidding Me?’

Inde Navarrette has expressed interest in reprising her role as Nikki in a possible sequel to Obsession.

The actress spoke with The Hollywood Reporter’s Scott Feinberg during a recent episode of Awards Chatter, recorded live at Chapman University. During the conversation, Feinberg asked Navarrette whether she would consider returning for a sequel to the hit film directed by Curry Barker.

“I would totally be open to doing a sequel,” she said. “Are you kidding me? Who am I to say no?”

Reflecting on what might happen to Nikki after the events of Obsession, Navarrette suggested that the character could face a “non-pretty answer” as she begins “starting a grief process.”

“I think that when things happen that are completely out of our control, like losing a loved one, losing a parent, losing autonomy, having an experience that wasn’t your fault, it’s very difficult to understand,” she said.

Released in theaters in May, Obsession raked in $522 million worldwide against an independent production budget of no more than $1 million. While fans await the possibility of a second installment, Navarrette has a packed schedule ahead, including a 2027 X-Men movie and the action film Invertigo, both expected to arrive next year.

In X-Men, the actress will make her Marvel debut as Rogue, a casting announcement that was revealed during D23 in August.
