Man Accused of Pistol-Whipping Rick Ross’ Son Gives 50 Cent a Shout-Out

The man accused of pistol-whipping Rick Ross’ son has been released from jail on bond and thanked 50 Cent after the G-Unit mogul offered to cover his bail.

On Wednesday (Oct. 21), suspect Don Roberts was granted $50,000 bail during a custody hearing. He was released a few hours later after posting a surety bond. Don had been arrested on Oct. 16 and spent six days behind bars after being charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery in connection with an alleged incident involving Ross’ 21-year-old son, William Roberts III.

Following his release, Don shared a video thanking 50 for “everything you doing for me and believing in my innocence.” The clip surfaced a day after 50 announced on Instagram that he would bail Don out to spite his longtime rival, Rick Ross. However, it remains unclear whether 50 actually paid the bail.

50 later reposted the video on his own page, captioning it, “I had a strong feeling this brother was innocent. who snitching [laughing emoji].”

According to the police report, William was standing on a sidewalk with a woman near the Bethune-Cookman University campus on Oct. 11 when a car pulled up. The driver, identified as Don, allegedly stepped out and pointed a gun at William.

Don reportedly threatened to kill William before striking him on the side of the head with the firearm. The alleged attack appears to have stemmed from Don’s displeasure over William being with the woman. William later identified Don in a police lineup, leading to his arrest.
