A violent home invasion near Drake’s Toronto mansion has left a family of four hospitalized, with two victims suffering “life-altering injuries,” according to Toronto police. As reported by CBC, officers responded to reports of a “violent home invasion” in the Bridle Path neighborhood, only a few hundred metres from Drake’s residence.
Police are currently searching for three suspects who allegedly carried guns and a hammer when they broke into the property. Authorities said the masked individuals entered through the back of the house, triggering a violent confrontation with the family. The suspects reportedly encountered a father, mother, and their two adult daughters before firing their weapons “multiple times.” Const. Shannon Eames confirmed that the father and both daughters were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds, while the mother sustained injuries from a hammer attack. Two of the victims suffered life-altering injuries, while the remaining two are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
No arrests have been made so far. According to police, the suspects fled the scene in an SUV. Insp. Kristy Smith said investigators have yet to establish a clear motive, although the attackers reportedly demanded valuables from the family.
Cecil Hawkins, a neighbor of the victims, described the incident as a “terrible shock and tragedy.” He also drew comparisons to the 2024 shooting outside Drake’s home.
“The attack on Drake’s house was awful, but he’s a celebrity and you don’t think it’s ever going to happen to you as a more normal person,” Hawkins said.
Police have since identified the victims as Mac Group CEO David Morton, his daughters Cristina and Maggie, and his wife, Doriana Zohil-Morton. Further updates are expected as the investigation continues.
