Is The Weeknd Featured on Drake’s “What Did I Miss?” Song?

Drake made a bold solo return with “What Did I Miss?” over the weekend, signaling a fresh era for the 6 God after the success of his collab project $ome $exy $ongs 4 U with PARTYNEXTDOOR.

The track—widely believed to be a preview of his upcoming solo album, his first since 2023’s For All the Dogs—has sparked major buzz, especially with fans dissecting lines possibly aimed at Kendrick Lamar and others. But beyond the lyrical drama, a mysterious voice that pops up during the song’s slick beat switch is stirring its own wave of speculation.

Let’s break down what’s real and what’s just rumor.

Is The Weeknd actually on Drake’s new track? That’s been the burning question ever since “What Did I Miss?” dropped.

Some fans swear they hear The Weeknd’s voice during the track’s smooth beat switch, while others think it could be Majid Jordan, another act under the OVO umbrella.

But according to the official credits on Tidal, Drake is listed as the only lyricist and composer on the song—meaning there’s no featured artist and no sample credited. So while the vocals might sound like The Weeknd, there’s nothing official to confirm he’s actually on the track.

Meanwhile, the eagle-eyed @certifiedjared appears to have cracked the case.

Evîn, the German-born artist inspired by the likes of FKA twigs and James Blake, recently cleared up the mystery on Instagram—confirming that it’s her voice featured on Drake’s “What Did I Miss?”

“You can hear me,” she wrote, expressing how speechless and grateful she felt about the moment. She also took a moment to thank “everyone involved” in bringing the track to life.

Drake and The Weeknd were once a powerhouse duo, with their chemistry going all the way back to 2011’s Take Care. But fast-forward to 2024, and things seem far from friendly.

Amid the explosive Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar feud that dominated the year, cracks began to show between the two Toronto stars. While no direct shots were fired, subtle moves and social media clues hinted that the bond between Aubrey and Abel might’ve quietly fractured. Whatever’s going on behind the scenes, one thing’s clear—their once-tight musical alliance isn’t what it used to be.

Back in November, Drake raised eyebrows during a livestream with xQc when he asked him to skip a track by The Weeknd, opting instead for “some blink-182.”

“I wanna hear that real shit,” Drake said as xQc switched over to “Dammit” from blink-182’s 1997 Dude Ranch album.

That moment didn’t go unnoticed—especially since The Weeknd was featured on Metro Boomin and Future’s We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You albums last year. Both projects played key roles in fueling the heated back-and-forth between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, making Abel’s involvement all the more telling.
