Kelly Osbourne has spoken out for the first time following the heartbreaking death of her father, Ozzy Osbourne.
The legendary Black Sabbath frontman passed away on July 22 at the age of 76, with the official cause of death confirmed as a heart attack.
In a deeply emotional message shared to her Instagram stories, Kelly opened up about the pain of losing her father and the overwhelming support her family has received. She expressed gratitude to fans who showed up in massive numbers for Ozzy’s funeral in his hometown of Birmingham, England.
“I’ve sat down to write this a hundred times and still don’t know if the words will ever feel like enough… but from the bottom of my heart, thank you,” she wrote, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.
“The love, support, and beautiful messages I’ve received from so many of you have truly helped carry me through the hardest moment of my life. Every kind word, every shared memory, every bit of compassion has meant more than I can ever explain,” she continued.
Kelly also reflected on the nature of grief, saying, “Grief is a strange thing. It sneaks up on you in waves. I won’t be OK for a while.” But she added that knowing others are grieving with her has helped her feel less alone. “I’m holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy he left behind.”
Just three weeks before his passing, Ozzy reunited with his original Black Sabbath bandmates — Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward — for one final show in front of 40,000 fans at Villa Park in England.
During the performance, Ozzy shared a heartfelt message with the crowd: “I just want to say to you on behalf of the guys in Black Sabbath and myself, your support over the years has made it all possible for us to live the lifestyle that we do. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you. We love you.”
Ozzy Osbourne is survived by his wife, Sharon, and children Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis.
