Brad Pitt’s mother, Jane Etta Pitt, has passed away at the age of 84.

Brad Pitt’s mother, Jane Etta Pitt, has passed away at 84.

According to TMZ, sources close to the family say she died within the last few days, and a loved one shared a tribute to her on Instagram. While she kept a low profile over the years, Jane occasionally appeared at Brad’s movie premieres and even attended the 84th Academy Awards with him in 2012.

Jane, a former counselor, raised Brad and his siblings, Doug and Julie, alongside her husband William in Springfield, Missouri.

Brad’s niece, Sydney Pitt, shared heartfelt photos and memories on Instagram, calling her grandmother “love in its purest form.” She recalled how Jane always made time for each of her 14 grandchildren and dedicated a special day to each of them annually.

“She taught me how to paint, be strong, lead with kindness, and find joy in the little things,” Sydney wrote. “We weren’t ready to let her go, but knowing she’s free to sing, dance, and paint again brings peace.”

Just last June, Brad gave his mom a sweet shout-out on the Today show, saying, “Love you, Mom,” while promoting his film F1.

Back in 2009, Brad and his siblings donated $1 million to a Missouri hospital, which later opened a pediatric cancer center named in Jane’s honor.

Jane Pitt is survived by her husband, William, and her three children.
