Sophie Rain Claps Back at NBA’s Michael Porter Jr. Over Viral OnlyFans Remarks

Sophie Rain has fired back after NBA forward Michael Porter Jr. questioned her multimillion-dollar success on OnlyFans, calling out the hypocrisy in how people view women in the influencer space compared to male athletes.

The 20-year-old creator, who recently revealed she’s pulled in over $82 million on the platform in just 18 months, addressed Porter’s viral Twitch comments with a sharp clapback.

“I just think it’s funny how men can dribble a ball and cash $30 million checks without anyone calling that ‘lame,’” Rain said on Saturday.

“But if a woman builds a business from nothing and earns more than some MVPs, suddenly it’s a moral crisis,” Sophie Rain continued in her response.

Michael Porter Jr., 26, had made his comments during a Twitch stream with PlaqueBoyMax on Friday night, reacting to Rain’s massive earnings. “To me, it’s kind of lame that dudes is giving her 50 M’s, bro… they’re over there in their little room being weird,” Porter said. He also doubted the authenticity of fan interactions, adding, “They’re probably talking to some dude in the Philippines who’s running her account.”

Rain quickly shot back, reminding critics of the grind behind her success: “They love to act like it’s all smoke and mirrors, but no one was handing me a contract, a trainer, and a brand deal at 19. I worked 14-hour days, answered every DM, edited every post. Nobody faked that grind.”

Though Porter clarified he wasn’t judging Rain personally and admitted he’d never used OnlyFans, he still called the numbers “wild.”

Her earnings first went viral earlier this week during a YouTube interview with David Dobrik, where she revealed she’s made $82 million total — $43 million in 2024 alone. Dobrik’s jaw dropped at the figure.

“Not gonna lie,” Rain added, “it’s usually men with the most to say about OnlyFans who secretly wish they could charge $29.99 a month just to exist.”

Porter, who inked a five-year deal worth up to $207 million with the Denver Nuggets back in 2021, has yet to respond to Rain’s clapback.

Online, opinions split down the middle. Some sided with Porter’s take on online fantasy culture, while others praised Rain for putting the spotlight on double standards. “Men get paid to chase a ball,” one user posted on X. “She gets paid for building a brand. Pick your hustle.”
