Drake’s Iceman era keeps building momentum.
As fans gear up for his ninth studio album, the OVO boss dropped the third chapter of his Iceman livestream, giving listeners another sneak peek at what’s to come.
One of the biggest highlights was a fresh, untitled track with Yeat, marking another link-up after their collab on For All the Dogs and Yeat’s surprise appearance during Drake’s star-packed Wireless Festival sets. The record also features singer-songwriter Julia Wolf, adding a new layer to the vibe.
Drake also tapped back in with drill’s smooth operator Cash Cobain for “Somebody Eats Me,” their first joint effort since FOTD’s “Calling For You.” The track flips “Somebody Who Loves Me,” a standout from Drake and PartyNextDoor’s $ome $exy $ongs 4 U.
Announced in August 2024, Iceman is Drake’s first solo project since 2023’s For All the Dogs, arriving after his 100 GIGS EP. Since then, Drizzy has been heating things up with singles like “What Did I Miss?” and the Central Cee-assisted “Which One?” The former sparked plenty of buzz online, with fans convinced it slyly referenced his much-discussed feud with Kendrick Lamar and the fake friends it revealed.
“I’m back in your city tonight, walkin’ around with my head high,” Drake raps on the track. “I saw bro at the Pop Out with them but been dick riding gang since ‘Headlines.’”
Back in March, Drizzy hinted at what’s coming next, calling it his “next chapter” in an Instagram post and cautioning fans that the music ahead might “feel uneasy” for some listeners.
“U know I grew up non confrontational and always treated this game as a sport where my pen won gold, but these days the podium has been hard for all of us to ignore,” Drake wrote. “I understand that this next chapter may leave you feeling uneasy, but I hope you see my honesty as clarity not charity that answers some questions especially about the unanswered texts you’ve been sending me.”
While Iceman doesn’t have an official release date yet, Drake has teased a 2025 drop. Former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel even hinted the album could land around Drizzy’s 39th birthday on Oct. 24.
“Probably, around the end of October, maybe early November,” Manziel told Cool Kicks last month. “Birthday coming up. Coming back to Texas after that. I’m going to take him to a game this year. He’s going to Aggie Land.”
