Could we be getting a jazz album from Young Thug and The Alchemist? Fans are buzzing over the possibility, and even Alc himself seems ready to make it happen.
The idea started with a viral tweet back in November. A fan joked about the concept, saying, “When Young Thug gets into his introspective bag, turns to jazz, and makes a collab album with The Alchemist.” The tweet, paired with a clip of NBA legend Vince Carter getting emotional at his jersey retirement ceremony, sparked imaginations across social media.
Fast forward to Sunday, Dec. 16, when The Alchemist—three-time Grammy-nominated producer and musical genius—responded to a fan on X (formerly Twitter) who brought the idea back to life. “Introspective jazz album with Young Thug needed,” the fan wrote, replying to Alc’s “How we looking?” tweet. Alchemist’s response? “Somebody send me his number i got u.”
Fans ran wild with the idea, creating mock album covers inspired by Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak’s Silk Sonic, and even crafting mash-ups of what the duo might sound like.
Young Thug, who was released from jail in late October after taking a plea deal, hasn’t dropped any new music since. His most recent project, Business is Business, was released in 2023 while he was incarcerated. If Thugger is planning a musical comeback, a left-field jazz collaboration with The Alchemist could be exactly what nobody saw coming—but everybody wants to hear.
So, will this unlikely pairing move from meme to masterpiece? If Alc has anything to say about it, the answer could be yes. Fans can only hope someone gets him Thug’s number.
