Former couple Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s love story has been a rollercoaster — from engagement to marriage, and eventually, divorce.
On Monday, October 6, the two reunited in a different way on the red carpet in New York City to promote their new film, Kiss of the Spider Woman. It marked their first public appearance together since their split.
Photos from Getty Images captured the pair smiling and sharing affectionate glances, while both have recently spoken warmly about each other in separate interviews.
A People writer even shared hopes that the former couple might find their way back to each other once more — dubbing it “Bennifer 3.0.”
“They say the third time is the charm, and I’m certainly hoping that is the case,” wrote Stephanie Sengwe.
Fans quickly joined in on the speculation. “I love them together,” one person posted on X. “Can we please, for the love of EVERYTHING, get Bennifer 3.0?”
Another chimed in, “Some people are just better as couples than they are spouses.”
Still, not everyone was on board for another round of their on-again, off-again love story. “Absolutely not. She doesn’t deserve that. Actually, no woman does,” one user wrote on X.
“She’s amazing in the movie. I just can’t wait for audiences to see it. I’m as proud of this film as any I’ve ever been part of. I’m really, really excited to be here tonight,” Ben Affleck told Extra TV.
“It was obvious to me very early on in Jennifer’s involvement that she was either going to fail spectacularly or be incredible,” he continued. “She just gives everything she has, and she did. She worked incredibly hard. This role shows all of her many gifts — she grew up watching classic musicals and, of course, can do contemporary dance and so much more.”
Jennifer Lopez shared the love right back during an interview with TODAY. “If it wasn’t for Ben, the movie wouldn’t have gotten made, and I will always give him that credit,” she said.
She added, “I took some time off and now we’re back. And I’m really excited for everyone to see this film. It’s a beautiful story about love.”
