Wiz Khalifa made it clear that his signature dreads are here to stay — no matter who else decides to chop theirs off.
In a new video shared on social media, the rapper addressed his long locs head-on, telling fans, “Y’all n****s cutting y’all hair? Go ahead and cut it off. Because y’all can’t do this.”
He then flipped his hair back and forth in slow motion — giving major Willow Smith “Whip My Hair” vibes — though his version had a smoother, almost shampoo-commercial flair.
After flipping his hair, Khalifa burst into laughter. “That’s exactly why I grew my shit out for — so I could do that right there,” he joked.
While he didn’t mention anyone by name, it’s easy to guess who he might be referring to, as a couple of well-known figures recently ditched their dreads.
In September, Kai Cenat chopped off his locs during the final day of his Mafiathon 3 stream. With LeBron James and his daughter Zhuri joining the celebration, LeBron personally helped cut Cenat’s hair after the streamer hit one million Twitch subscribers.
Earlier this year, DDG also cut off his trademark dreads after reaching 40,000 subscribers on Twitch.
During his Hit-A-Thon livestream, DDG shaved off his dreads in front of over 60,000 viewers — but quickly promised they wouldn’t be gone for long. “I’m gonna go right back to where I started,” he said. “I got to grow everything out.”
