Jim Jones got real about the idea of reconciling with Max B while reflecting on old beefs.
During the newest episode of his podcast Let’s Rap About It, co-hosted by Fabolous, Maino, and Dave East, Maino mentioned how Young Thug and YFN Lucci recently settled their differences and asked if Jones could ever do the same with Max B.
Jones admitted that he’s still holding on to some feelings. “I may forgive, I don’t forget,” he said. “And even if I forgive, I’m not here to make anybody feel comfortable.”
The Harlem rapper made it clear that, for now, he hasn’t fully moved past his history with Max.
Jim Jones also revisited the topic of Young Thug and YFN Lucci’s truce, pointing out that not every situation can be resolved the same way. “Just because someone else figured their situation… don’t mean that everybody could be subjected to doing that… You don’t know how severe it may be to a person,” he said.
He closed his thoughts on Max B by emphasizing that his focus is now on his own life and success, not past drama. “I don’t give a fuck about what nobody do,” Jones said. “I’m not actively pursuing nothing but this money.”
Max B, on the other hand, has chosen a more peaceful route. During a July interview on Drink Champs, the rapper—who’s set to be released from prison on November 9—shared that he’s forgiven Jones and is ready to move forward. Calling in from Northern State Prison in New Jersey, Max explained how his time behind bars changed his outlook.
“Listen, man. It’s love, man. I want to start over. I’m a new man. I’m a married man. I got four kids,” Max said. “Like, I’m on a whole different time right now… I’m out here to get my money and ride out the sunset with this shit. It’s in there for me, though. I’m gonna tell you that. So that’s the goal.”
Their feud dates back to 2008, when Max left Jones’ ByrdGang label over financial issues, sparking a heated back-and-forth filled with diss tracks and public jabs. For anyone interested, there’s an 18-minute video online recapping their entire beef.
