Ariana Grande is diving further into her acting career — and her next move has fans buzzing.
On Friday, October 31, the “Thank U, Next” singer was officially announced as part of the cast for the upcoming 13th season of American Horror Story. The news broke through a post shared on the show’s official Instagram page.
This will be Ariana Grande’s second time stepping into Ryan Murphy’s world — her first being the 2015 horror-comedy Scream Queens. While details about the new season’s plot and characters remain tightly under wraps, Grande joins a lineup that includes several fan-favorite American Horror Story veterans, among them Angela Bassett, who had nothing but praise for the pop star.
Speaking to Variety at LACMA’s Art + Film Gala on Saturday, November 1, Bassett was asked if she had any advice for Grande — and she didn’t hold back on the compliments.
“Ariana has been at it for quite a while,” Angela Bassett said. “I’ve had the pleasure of meeting her—she’s a delightful human being. I think she’ll be just fine. She’s a hard worker, obviously. Very talented. She’ll be ok. She doesn’t need any advice from me.”
Fans suspect the upcoming American Horror Story season — rumored to be the show’s final one — could tie back to Coven, the series’ beloved third season. Bassett made her AHS debut in Coven as the powerful Marie Laveau, alongside Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, Gabourey Sidibe, Evan Peters, and Jessica Lange. Other returning alumni include Leslie Grossman and Billie Lourd.
Meanwhile, Grande has kept busy with a full slate of projects. She recently wrapped filming for Focker In-Law, where she stars as Olivia, and is gearing up for the highly anticipated Wicked: For Good, hitting theaters on Friday, November 21.
Looking ahead to 2026, Grande’s schedule is already packed — she’ll be hitting the road for her Eternal Sunshine Tour, marking her first concert tour in seven years.
