Teyana Taylor insists she’s never called her boyfriend, actor Aaron Pierre, “Mufasa” in bed — though she admits she’s used the nickname before.
Pierre, who played the title role in Mufasa: The Lion King prequel released last December, has been dating Taylor for some time. During a lie detector test with her All’s Fair costar Kim Kardashian for Vanity Fair, Taylor was asked about Pierre, whose “Mufasa” nickname went viral after his suave 2024 appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show.
Around the three-minute mark of the video, Kim Kardashian playfully asked Teyana Taylor if she ever calls Aaron Pierre “Mufasa” in the bedroom — a question that immediately made Taylor burst into laughter.
“I have not called him ‘Mufasa’ in the bedroom,” she replied, only for the polygraph examiner to note that the test was detecting “some deception.”
It’s worth noting that, according to the American Psychological Association, polygraph tests aren’t considered reliable indicators of truthfulness, with “little basis for [their] validity.”
Taylor admitted that she’s called Pierre “Mufasa” before — just not in bed, because that would feel a little too awkward.
“Only because I actually would feel cringe being like, ‘Yeah, Mufasa. Mu mu, take me to Pride Rock,’” she joked. “I never called him ‘Mufasa’ in the bedroom, but yeah, we do make Mufasa jokes.”
Taylor, who appeared with Pierre in the Escape Room visual album, was previously married to former NBA player Iman Shumpert from 2016 to 2024. The former couple share two daughters — Junie, 9, and Rue Rose, 5. Pierre also has a son from a prior relationship.
