Joe Budden Says Watching the Netflix Doc Made Him Feel Diddy “Didn’t Get Enough Time” in Prison

Joe Budden thinks Sean “Diddy” Combs should’ve served more prison time after watching the Netflix documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning.

On The Joe Budden Podcast, he revealed he was “absolutely pissed” at Combs by the second episode of the Alexandria Stapleton–directed series. “It basically blames Puff for Biggie and Pac,” he said at the 2:05 mark. “This piece takes a lot of the reasonable doubt away. They do a good job of laying it at his feet.”

Episode two, titled “What Goes Down Must Come Up,” dives into whether Combs helped spark the East Coast–West Coast rap beef that eventually led to the murders of The Notorious B.I.G. and 2Pac.

Budden praised The Reckoning for piecing together a timeline that paints Combs in a harsh light. “I was saying, ‘Fuck him,’ by episode two,” he admitted.

By the time he wrapped up the docuseries, Budden said, “It did make you feel, like, at the end, he didn’t get enough time.”

Combs was sentenced in October to 50 months in prison, with time served, after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

Since Budden was the only one on the podcast who had watched the documentary at the time, he couldn’t go too deep into discussion. Still, he noted that the series laid out multiple situations where someone could easily see Combs as guilty.

“They showed too much shit to where it’s, like, if you don’t believe this, or if this didn’t do it for you, or if this didn’t do it for you, it’s like certain shit is too consistent in the story that they tell,” he said.
